Jamie Sanborn
Director
Jamie is an active member of the music community in Hawai’i, Jamie has held administrative roles with the Musicians Union, Hawai’i Symphony Orchestra, and most recently joined the Performing Arts Department at ‘Iolani School as their Technical and Production Manager.
Before joining the Hawai’i Saxophone Foundation, Jamie served as the Treasurer for the Hawai’i Music Teachers Association Board of Directors from 2021 - 2024. A strong proponent for music and arts education, she has traveled to destinations such as Kenya, Tanzania, Chicago, Haiti, Detroit and others to teach classes centered around musical games, composition activities, and performances to enrich children’s lives. Jamie has been playing with the Spring Wind Quintet of Chamber Music Hawai’i, as well as 3rd/Associate Principal Horn with the Hawai’i Symphony since 2019, and has taught private horn lessons for the past 13 years.
Originally from Wichita, KS, Jamie is a proud Kansan that loves to golf, fish, camp, hike, and do yoga in her free time. She has a sassy niece and ornery nephew in Kansas City that she absolutely adores.
