Allen Won

Vice President

Allen Won spent 40 years in New York City. Moving there to finish his college degree, he spent countless hours hanging and playing with musicians of varying disciplines. Be-bop to swing, avant-garde to broadway, Lincoln Center with the New York Philharmonic and the Metropolitan Opera, Allen has played in practically every musical genre.

He was blessed to have met composer and pianist Galt MacDermot who wrote HAIR, and became his saxophone soloist for 35 years. Allen was also fortunate to have played in Levon Helm’s band driving up to the drummers house in Woodstock, NY to participate in Levin’s weekly legendary Midnight Rambles.

Among the people and bands he’s shared the stage with, Jackson Browne, Little Feat, Ellington bassist Aaron Bell, singer song writer Isaac Hayes, drummer Jimmy Cobb, violinist Regina Carter, drummer Louis Bellson, avant-garde saxophonist Thomas Chapin, blues artist Southside Johnny, legendary tenor saxophonist’s Frank Foster and Frank Wess, internationally known saxophonist Gabe Baltazar.

Locally, Allen went to school with Santana bassist Benny Rietveld and drummer Noel Okimoto.

Aloha for now!
